Hah! Ultra is sounding better and better! Looks like the organizers have also flip-flopped their booking M.O. this year. Since the festival’s expansion into a two-day affair, things have generally gone more experimental the first night, with the classic dance music titans taking over the second day and night. Not so this year. In our previous post about the first lineup announcement, we mentioned Cut Copy, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, the Presets, Simian Mobile Disco, and Busy P. Those guys will all be playing the second night of the festival — wow, because in the past, the one-off events on the Saturday of WMC have presented some real blockbuster events to compete with Ultra. Smart move on the festival’s part. Its organizers also claim that Saturday night’s gig will be the only live appearances in Miami by those aforementioned artists.

But what else did Billboard miss in its first quick report on the lineup? Hercules and Love Affair!

As much as we love all those other second-day performers, they’ve

pretty much all performed in Miami at some point in the recent past.

Hercules and Love Affair has yet to do so — well, one of them came to the Vagabond for a DJ set, but that doesn’t really count as a performance.

As far as Tiesto, the Ting Tings, Bloc Party, Roni Size Reprazent, and Santogold, they’ll all perform the first night. Carl Cox, he of the seeming agelessness and boundless energy, will perform both nights.

Again, you can grab your tickets now at www.ultramusicfestival.com.
