South Florida’s Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts (WMODA) will open a special exhibition of Ardmore ceramics created by Christopher Ntshalintshali and other South African artists. The “African Animals and Botanicals” show, which runs January 4 through April 30, includes dozens of Ardmore ceramics featuring the brightly-colored, hand-modeled flora, fauna and people of the region, largely inspired by stories from Zulu culture. Based in South Africa, Ardmore ceramics are quickly rising in prominence among the international art world, with special exhibitions in London, Paris, Dubai, Harare, New York, Miami’s Art Basel and now at WMODA.
