No. 48: Key Lime Pie from Le Tub
What’s more Florida than Key lime pie? Well, maybe Le Tub. The open-air restaurant
made of what looks like driftwood and old toilets is Buffett bohemian in
all the best ways. The Key lime pie produced there is just about
perfect: tart, creamy, tangy, moist, with a graham cracker crust that
leaves little flecks on the styrofoam bowl. But what sets it into
overdrive is the way it jibes with the atmosphere, especially when the
sun is setting and you’re already full from a big-ass burger or a bowl
of too much seafood.
