It’s the middle of winter in South Florida, and while people from northern climes are flocking to our beaches, Floridians are breaking out the boots and bundling up in sweaters.

Some may say that we’re namby-pambies who pull out the mittens when the thermometer reads below 75 degrees, but that’s fine, because that also means it’s soup season. And soup tastes doubly good when we’re sipping it for a good cause. In that spirit, we’re celebrating SouperBowl!

From today, January 31, through Tuesday, February 7, Panera Bread

locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties will donate $1 for every

bowl of soup purchased (does not include soup purchased in a pick-two combo) to the Pap Corps, a volunteer organization that supports research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, South

Florida’s only university-based cancer center.

Since its inception in 1952, the Pap Corps has raised $39 million, more than $29 million in the past ten years.
