Fat Joe, best-known for the song “Lean Back,” is looking like he’s been dining on Lean Cuisine of late. The rapper’s fresh physique came into the public’s consciousness earlier this week when he premiered the “Drop a Body” video looking like the body of an 88-pound weakling had been shed from his frame.

The New York Daily News caught up with the Terror Squad frontman (real name: Joe Cartegena) from the Bronx, and he admitted that vanity played no role in his transformation. “If I could gain 1,000 pounds and be healthy, I would love to do that,” he says. “But obviously, the statistics say you can’t.” He credits a new diet and exercise for his new look and does not mince words regarding fast food: “Don’t go up in KFC, don’t go up in McDonald’s, don’t go up in Burger King.”

Check out his much less Fat look after the jump.

Voila!

OK, we kid. That’s R&B singer Joe, whose “Don’t Wanna Be a Player” serves as the hook for “Still Not a Player,” a hit from an even larger rapper who unfortunately succumbed to a heart attack at age 28, Big Pun. Since Fat Joe looks nothing like just plain Joe and they both appear in the “Still Not a Player” video, this discussion is over.

Here is the actual Fat Joe in his “Drop a Body” clip:
